In
these automatic feed plants, material is to be lifted more
than 8-10 ft. from floor level, hence bucket elevators are
employed in place of screw conveyors. It consists of two
pulleys - one driven pulley at bottom and second on top
which is a driving pulley. Cotton or rubber belt run over
these pulleys and buckets at proper intervals are bolted on
this belt. All these are enclosed in housing having an inlet
at bottom and an outlet at top. When pulleys revolve, buckets
are filled with material at bottom and are emptied at top by
centrifugal force.
